My Story

My Journey

As a teenager I suffered from anxiety and tension headaches. Frustrated from the lack of support from my GP, I looked into natural alternative ways to cope and fell in love with Aromatherapy. Using the oils helped me to stay grounded and calm during panic attacks and ease muscle tension when I had headaches.

My life changed!

In 2002 I plucked up the courage to receive counselling. Impressed by how much it helped, I wanted to support others in the same way. So, I studied counselling for three years, with plans to go to uni to do a degree in Psychology.

My Gap Year!

In 2006 I took a year out, but instead of travelling, I wanted to do something just for me, so I signed up for an Aromatherapy Course in Coleg Morgannwg. The course was cancelled, but I had the option to take the Holistic Therapy Diploma that also covered Swedish Massage, Reflexology & Reiki. I finally found my calling, and haven't looked back.

Level up!

I loved every aspect of he course, so went on to Glamorgan University to study the Foundation Degree in Complementary Therapy. Here I signed up for the extra training in Pregnancy Massage, Hot Stone Massage & Indian Head Massage.

Look Out Cardiff!

While at Uni I worked at Holm House & The Spa Academy. Although it offered great experience, I quickly learnt that the Spa life wasn't suited for me. I wanted to be provide massages that were tailored to the needs of the individual. So, I set up as a self-employed therapist in 2010 and joined the ACT Clinic in Cardiff.

Moving On...

I stayed at ACT until it closed, and then moved to several other clinics in Cardiff including The Whitchurch Clinic in 2013, where I worked alongside a Chiropractor who introduced to the benefits of Rehabilitation and working with people in chronic pain.

My Own Space!

In 2017 I made the leap and opened up my own space in Nantgarw on Treforest Industrial Estate. I believe my own journey fuels my passion of helping other who also suffer from headaches & anxiety. This is why I always put comfort first above anything else. As I know, if a client doesn't feel relaxed, neither will their muscles!

2020 Lessons in Lockdown

The lockdown provided the unique opportunity to return to study as an Advanced Clinical Massage Therapist, with JING. The course allowed me to blend the theory of Sports Massage with my holistic training to provide a treatment that is deep enough to help with chronic pain, yet gentle enough it allows you to relax.

2021 Putting it into practice

During 2021 in-between lockdowns and travelling to Brighton to study, I tweaked my practice and started focusing my attention on working with those in chronic pain. The majority of my clients are desk workers with Fibromyalgia or tension headaches.

2022 Bringing it all together

I loved studying with Jing so much, that I made the full commitment to continue my studies and complete the three years of their full BTEC Course that is the equivalent of a Degree. It is the highest qualification a massage therapist can take in the UK for Clinical & Sports Massage.

New for 2022 - Tai Chi Classes

I've been lucky enough to partnership with the charities: Volunteering Matters & Be Active Wales, to bring Tai Chi, Qigong, Shibashi classes to RCT.

They are suitable for everyone, but aimed for the over 50s and those with low mobility. Check out my classes' page for the latest timetable.
